お寺の一画に、多目的に使えるお堂が新築された。宗教活動は勿論、コンサートや演劇、結婚式にも使えるという。縁側が南側に設けられ、庭に大きく開いた開口は舞台の役割も担う。この大開口にかけるカーテンを依頼された。
日除け、目隠しが求められた機能だが、断熱性も必須だろうと考え、綿（わた）を使ったデザインを考えた。
綿を通した光はぼんやりと柔らかく、障子を彷彿とさせる。
収納をコンパクトに抑えられるよう、スリットを設けパタパタと折りたためるカーテンとした。
The architecture is located in a temple site, and it is part of the religion building.
The space used for some events such as music concert, theatrics, and also the wedding ceremony to be familiar for everybody in the town, from children to seniors.
To provide flexibility, we designed a translucent curtain that reminds you Japanese style sliding door, “shoji”, by combining padding cotton and white voile. That works like a light cloud in the sky bringing soft light into the space and also works as insulation material.
