小学校の改修工事。開口部のカーテンをデザインした。
開口部は2段に分かれており、レールもそれぞれに設置されている。上段には換気扇や空調ダクトが備えられている他、操作性も低い為、カーテン設置は下段開口部のみに絞ると同時に、立面全体をデザインすることを意識した。
現場視察の際、階段ホールに小さなステンドグラスがあしらわれており、凡庸になりがちな空間に華やかさを与えていたのが印象的であった。放課後の教室に「何か楽しいものを」と考え複数の色を用いたデザインとした。部屋の照度を下げるとステンドグラスの様に色の光が浮き上がる。
A classroom renovation project to be after-school facility; Children who have working parents go to these facilities after school until their parents back to pick them up.
The building itself is an existing elementary school in Motomachi, Yokohama.
Existing rails were on each window and not to be changed. Because windows above are too high to control by hand, we focused on designing curtains for the lower part while considering the appearance of the entire elevation.
Since the building is moderately decorated with small stained glasses, and those encourage dark staircases in the conservative architecture, we tried to provide curtains with various colours. When the electric lights are turned down, several colours glow into the space.
